Is Plain Water Just As Good As Flavored Water?
According to many experts best drink is only water. Is this true?
Chemists have long recognized water as a substance having unusual and unique properties that one would not at first sight expect from a small molecule having the formula H2O. It is generally agreed that the special properties of water stem from the tendency of its molecules to associate, forming short-lived and ever-changing polymeric units that are sometimes described as "clusters".
These clusters are more conceptual than physical in nature; they have no directly observable properties, and their transient existence (on the order of picoseconds) does not support an earlier view that water is a mixture of polymers (H2O)n in which n can have a variety of values. Instead, the currently favored model of water is one of a loosely-connected network that might best be described as one huge "cluster" whose internal connections are continually undergoing rearrangement.
Any uncertainty that the chemistry community may have about the nature and existence of h2o clusters is not apparently shared by the a variety of "inventors" who have not only "discovered" these elusive creatures, but who claim findings that science has never even dreamed of! These promoters have spun their half-baked crackpot chemistry into numerous watery nostrums that they say are vital to your health and able to cure whatever-ails-you. These beneficences are hawked to the a lot more gullible of the general public, generally inside the form of a "concentrate" that you can add to your drinking water- all for a $20-$50 charge on your credit card.
Some of these hucksters claim to make the h2o into clusters" that are larger, smaller, or hexagonal-shaped, permitting them to more readily promote "cellular hydration" and remove "toxins" from your body.
The fact is that none of these views has any significant support in the scientific communities of chemistry, biochemistry, or physiology, nor are they even considered worthy of debate. The only places you are likely to see these views advocated are in literature (and on Web sites) intended to promote the sale of these products to consumers in the notoriously credulous "alternative" health and "dietary supplement" market.
If you're exercising solely to lose weight, no-calorie water is the best choice. "But for those who don't like the taste of water, the added flavor of low-cal sports drinks may help you stay hydrated without too many additional calories," Kundrat says. Look for 10 calories or less per 8-ounce serving — any higher could negate your workout gains.
The most refreshing is probably home made flavored carbonated water.
Next to plain water is the tried and true Gatorade, which is pretty much the same as it was over 3 decades ago. They still rely on the formula of simple sugars (sucrose, fructose and glucose in this case), sodium and potassium - end of story. In comparison of water it will help in increasing your exercise performance by supplying good hydration and ready energy. But it's "old school". There are better, more advance and effective formulas on the market. And no one suggests using Gatorade after or before the training. It doesn't work before training because the concentration of carbs is a bit too high, and their use of pure simple sugars could easily lead to rebound hypoglycemia, which would compromise your performance. And it doesn't work after training due to the lack of protein and other recuperative nutrients. Actually, Gatorade's are just a watered down soda without having fizz.
How can the south of england be short of water, when we live on chalk hills that are so absorbant?
We don't have enough reservoirs to cope with the demand and the infrastructure is so old that we lose a huge amount of water through pipe leakage. Thames Water claims that it hasn't had enough money to invest in infrastructure, which had received no investment for decades, because the regulator won't allow it to charge enough to consumers. Finally, because of the transportation cost, I don't think there is a national trading system so that regions with too much water (i.e. the north west of Scotland) can "top up" regions with insufficient supplies (i.e. the south of England).

Water and water purifiers
Are you aware of the fact that proper circulation of blood and transportation of nutrients in the body are facilitated by water? Right from prevention and alleviation of headaches to moisturizing of the skin, prevention of constipation, proper digestion, reduction of joint pain, the benefits of water are many. It cannot be enlisted in a single review or article. In short, water facilitates overall good health. Here comes the importance of the use of water purifiers. Water is no doubt life but unpurified water is equally dangerous to health given the increasing pollution levels. If you get your tap water tested you will get a report of the presence of multitudes of contaminants encompassing micro organisms, new age pollutants, chemicals, industrial waste, dissolved matter, and what not.
Use of water purifiers is a must to deem the water safe for drinking. Again, conventional purifiers won't be effective; you will need advanced systems. The best water purifiers are advanced systems that come incorporated with the latest technology and are designed based on years of research. The term ‘best' may not denote all modern models representative of different brands. There are also cheap systems available in the market and via direct sales. As a wise consumer, it is up to you to choose. A little research, seeking second opinion from neighbors and relatives, reading of reviews, etc. will help you choose the best water purifiers.
In the Indian market, it is the reverse osmosis water purifiers that are used in most regions. The reason is simple. Reverse osmosis is recommended for use in areas where TDS (total dissolved solids) in water is high. No other purification mechanism can prove to be as effective as reverse osmosis. There are numerous manufacturers in the Indian market in this segment. A promise of superlative quality and purification effectiveness is pledged by all. But as wise consumers, do consider the various factors involved in choosing the best reverse osmosis water purifiers because you are investing for a healthy life and you cannot compromise on this aspect.
The reverse osmosis purifying technology evolved over four decades ago. It all started with desalination of sea water and later, after its decontaminating competencies were recognized, the technology started finding use in bottled water plants, purifiers for home use, and other areas. Why worry when you can watch a home demo of the desired system performed at home!
