what kind of OMC outdrive do I have?
My boat is a 1976 SeaSwirl 140hp 181ci chevy 4cyl electric shift OMC outdrive. I keep seeing referance to Stringer or Cobra or 800 when I want to buy parts. Also besides spark arrestors is there a differance between marine or automotive starters for inboards? Thank You
You have what they call a 400 series Stringer mount drive
V6 and V8 engines use the 800 series drive.
Starters are sealed to prevent sparking in bilge area.
If you ended up with a gas leak in bilge kaboom.
Look for the marine rating sticker on it
