Motorguide Boat Trolling

How do you change a trolling motor plug-in on the boat from 12 volt3post to 24 volt 4 post?

I just purchased a new motorguide trolling motor to replace my old motorguide that was a 12/24 volt. The new one is 24 volt and has 4 post on the plug. I purchased a 4 post female end and now I am unsure how to wire it up so the 4 plug will work. Any suggestions? Ther are 4 wires, two black one red one orange on the boat that go to my 12 volt batteries, which I have 2 of.
