Bait Fishing: article # 19 Tips On Selecting The Right Bait Fishing Rod And Reels Details Here!
No Exit Popup Old School Bass Fishing Secrets Course
Selecting the right fishing rod and reel for bait fishing is very important. Depending on the type and size of fish you plan to target there are specific types of bait fishing rod and reels you should use. For example if you were bait fishing for large catfish you would want a slow action heavy duty rod with a heavy duty spin casting or open face spinning reel.
If you are looking to buy a new bait fishing rig you need to take a look at the following aspects of fishing rods that are available on the market today.
How To Select The Right Bait Fishing Rod:
1. You need to determine the length of rod you want.
A long rod gives you more casting distance and allows you to be more accurate on your casts. A long rod also allows you to cast lighter baits. A long rod will also give you better line control and a better hook set. A short rod is a better selection for bait fishing if you are fishing with artificial baits where you need delicate sensitivity to feel strike quickly and be able to set the hook fast. Also short rods are a better choice if you are fishing in close quarter spaces.
2. You need to determine the action of rod you want.
Slow action rods work very well if you want to cast light baits. They are a good choice for bait fishing with live bait. Also a fish would feel little resistance from the rod when they take off with your live bait selection. Slow action rods also work when you need to fight large fish and you do not want the line to snap. Fast action rods are best for fishing artificial baits such as plugs and lures, where you need great sensitivity and a quick hook set.
3. You need to determine the power of rod you want.
The power of the rod you select is determined by the bait size you intend to use and the size of the fish you want to target. For example id you were targeting large catfish you would need a heavy power rod. Or if you were wanting to fish for crappie you would want a light power rod because you need the rod tip and rod to give because you are fishing with light test line and you don't want to rip the hook from the fishes mouth when you set the hook.

What is the difference between a heavy duty 427, and a racing 427?
I have a heavy duty Chevy 427, and I just wondered what the difference is between the heavy one (like those found in the commercial trucks) and racing ones. I know the heavy one has higher torque at lower rpm, but why? Also, would it be worth it to put it in a "rat rod"? Any insight into this would be helpful. Please only answer if you have good constructive things to say. Please don't waste my time, as well as the time of others. Thanks for looking.
-Jason
The heavy duty ( truck block ) ones have a higher block deck height ( where the head bolts too ) and this allows them to use a longer connecting rod to get an increase in torque.

Recycle with Used Heavy Duty Parts & Equipment vs. New
Heavy duty truck parts (semi truck) are expensive and sometimes difficult to find. With all of the money that is required to invest in a semi truck, and the reliance that we place on these vehicles to make money and transport products from one location to another, it is essential to find a heavy duty truck parts quickly and affordably.
Used heavy duty parts dealers are able to offer discount prices (up to 80% vs. new) on a variety of salvage heavy duty and semi truck parts. While every dealer is different, the goal is to provide their customers with quality used heavy duty truck parts and accessories at competitive prices. This is particularly beneficial for those making a corporate purchase of several salvage semi truck parts in bulk as it allows you to build a relationship with a salvage semi truck dealer and have significant financial savings.
As a used heavy duty truck parts dealer, it is imperative that your employees have the parts and accessories that keep your driver safe on the road. By relying on a used heavy parts dealer, you can gain access to parts that are no longer manufactured. Since heavy duty trucks are such a large expense, it makes sense to maintain and preserve the quality of the equipment. However, after a period of time new makes and models become available, and the older parts and accessories become obsolete. If one fails to rely on a heavy duty truck company to supply these parts and accessories, the driver is left without adequate parts, which may jeopardize their comfort or safety, or the truck company is forced to purchase an expensive new truck in its place.
Used heavy duty parts dealers offer a number of benefits including: making salvage parts available at discount prices, locating hard to find parts that would otherwise be difficult to purchase, and keeping your semi truck in top condition by purchasing parts and accessories that are no longer manufactured. By following the recommendations above, your trucking company can reap the many benefits of relying on a used heavy duty parts dealer for your parts and accessory needs.
